Newcastle United secured a historic 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, claiming their first major domestic trophy in 70 years.

Dan Burn opened the scoring just before halftime, heading in a corner to put Newcastle in the lead. Early in the second half, Alexander Isak doubled their advantage with a clinical finish. Liverpool fought back, with Federico Chiesa pulling one back in added time, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot now faces the challenge of rallying his squad as their Premier League and European hopes take center stage.
