The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been honored with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ugosimba 1 of Enugu, recognizing her as the Jewel of Women Empowerment.

The title was conferred upon her during her official visit to Enugu State, where she engaged with traditional rulers and community leaders to advocate for initiatives promoting health, education, and women’s empowerment. In her address, the First Lady emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in fostering a prosperous Nigeria.

“As leaders, we are responsible for taking care of all of Nigeria, political affiliation notwithstanding,” she stated. “Nigeria is a beautiful country, and no one should hinder anyone from visiting any part of the country to experience this. We pray our security will improve and Nigeria should get to that place of safety.”

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Samuel Asadu, commended the First Lady’s dedication to national development and applauded her efforts in eradicating unsafe cultural practices that hinder the growth of women.

The First Lady also highlighted upcoming programs under the Renewed Hope Initiative, including Flow with Confidence, aimed at ensuring adolescent girls do not miss school due to menstrual challenges, and the Environment Club/Society, which encourages students to actively participate in environmental restoration.
