Nigeria to Begin Preparation Ahead of IHF Challenge Trophy Africa Zone 3 in Ghana

The National Women U-18 handball team have on Sunday (March 26) begin camping at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba Lagos ahead of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy Africa Zone 3 holding in Accra, Ghana between April 11 and 15.

In a statement made by the Handball Federation of Nigeria, the competition will serve as qualification for the Women’s IHF Trophy Africa Continental holding later in the yearThe handball players invited to camp are  mostly those who participated at the National U-12/15 Handball Championship in Sokoto and few in various handball academies across the country. Coach of the Women U-18 Handball team, Agboola Shittu Adewunmi has invited 30 players to camp and believes he will be able to get all of the best female handball players in the under 18 category and will adequately ensure they get the neccessary match and tactical fitness needed for the competition.

The list of players expected in the camp include: Precious Samuel (Sokoto), Chidera Ogwusimba (Sokoto), Rahima Bello (Sokoto), Prudence Samuel (Sokoto), Amina Mohammed (Sokoto), Mary Olaoye (Sokoto), Munira Kasimu (Sokoto), Lucy Onyekwere (Sokoto), Monica Opara (Sokoto), Munira Mohd (Sokoto), Timileyin Ogunwole (Sokoto), Damilola Adebisi (Sokoto), Akinola Temilade (Ekiti), Okosi Destiny (Ekiti), Ogunsakin Toyin (Ekiti), Elizabeth Gift (Bayelsa), Maureen John (Bayelsa), Blessing Jumbo (Bayelsa), Vera John (Bayelsa), Akinlade Damilola (Mindscope Academy), Nestor Abigail (Mindscope Academy).

Balogun Zainab (Mindscope Academy), Grace Gregory (Akwa Ibom), Blessing Inyang (Akwa Ibom), Taiwo Babatunde (Seasider Babes), Kehinde Babatunde (Seasider Babes), Mathew Esther (Seasider Babes), Okolo Joan (Delta), Igbinedion Blessing (Delta), Aparaugo Amarachi (Imo Grasshoppers).
