The Nigerian Army has honored 15 distinguished generals from the Artillery Corps, who have retired from active service after decades of dedicated duty.

A ceremony held at the Nigerian Army School of Artillery in Kachia, Kaduna State, celebrated the careers of 11 Major Generals and 4 Brigadier Generals.

Major General James Myam, representing the retirees, expressed heartfelt gratitude and fulfillment. He attributed their success to divine grace and acknowledged God’s protection throughout their years of service.

Myam thanked President Bola Tinubu and Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, for the opportunity to serve. He wished Lagbaja continued strength and wisdom in leading the Nigerian Army.

Reflecting on their journey, Myam recalled their beginnings as Officer Cadets at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna. He offered sage advice to serving officers: remain loyal to the Constitution, vigilant, and security-conscious.

The ceremony drew senior retired and serving military officers, including former Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Alwali Kazir (retd).

As these dedicated generals embark on their next chapter, their legacy and contributions to the Nigerian Army will endure, inspiring future generations of military leaders.
