The Federal Government has approved a fee increase for Nigerian passports, effective September 1, 2024.

According to a statement by Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) spokesman DCI Kenneth Udo, the move aims to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

The new fees are as follows:

– 32-page Passport booklet with 5-year validity: increased from N35,000 to N50,000

– 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity: increased from N70,000 to N100,000

However, passport fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged.

The NIS apologized for any inconvenience caused by the increase and assured citizens of its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery.
