Ycee, a popular Nigerian rapper, has shared a shocking experience of losing N2.7 million to theft through a Point of Sale (POS) machine. The incident, which occurred in November 2024, has led Ycee to advocate for a nationwide ban on POS machines due to concerns over their security and vulnerability to fraud.

According to Ycee, the thief used his ATM card to make three unauthorized transactions: N1 million, N1 million, and N700,000. He emphasized that the theft did not occur at an ATM, but rather through a POS machine, highlighting the need for stricter security measures to prevent such incidents.

Ycee expressed frustration with his bank’s response, stating that they have yet to provide a satisfactory explanation or solution for the missing funds. He argued that the lack of CCTV footage and security measures at POS machines makes it difficult to investigate and prevent such crimes.

In light of his experience, Ycee is calling for a ban on POS machines, citing concerns that many others may have fallen victim to similar crimes. He believes that stricter security measures and regulations are necessary to protect individuals’ finances and prevent fraud.
