Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

His reinstatement took place during Monday’s plenary session following the resignation of Mojisola Meranda, who served as Speaker for 49 days.

Obasa’s return was facilitated by a nomination from Noheem Adams, the lawmaker representing Eti-Osa I, which was seconded by Akinsanya Nureni.

Meranda, who stepped down earlier in the session, was praised by lawmakers for her leadership and legislative contributions. She described her resignation as a personal sacrifice to protect the integrity of the Assembly.

Obasa’s reinstatement is seen as a move to resolve the leadership crisis that has gripped the House in recent weeks, with expectations that it will restore stability and continuity in legislative affairs.
