A 2016 photograph of Nigerian singer Asake and his father, Fatai Odunsi, has resurfaced online, sparking discussions amid recent allegations of neglect. The picture, taken at a concert in Isale Eko, shows Asake and his father in a warm moment years before the singer’s rise to fame.

The resurfaced image has gained attention following claims by Odunsi that Asake has abandoned him since he suffered a stroke in March 2022. In a viral video, Odunsi alleged that his son has not been providing him with support despite his health struggles.

Amid the controversy, Asake responded with a cryptic freestyle video on social media, stating, “You can’t please humans, you can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God.” His response has fueled further debate on social media about the complexities of family relationships, especially when fame and success come into play.

The emergence of the old photo has led many to reflect on Asake’s past relationship with his father, with some questioning what may have led to the reported estrangement. However, Asake has yet to directly address his father’s accusations.
