Oluwaseun Kuforiji Aims for Guinness World Record with 120-Hour Sewing Marathon

Nigerian fashion designer and entrepreneur Oluwaseun Kuforiji is set to make history with a bold attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record for the longest sewing marathon, or “sew-a-thon,” lasting an incredible 120 hours.

Hailing from Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, Kuforiji plans to showcase his skills by creating traditional native attire during the event, which is scheduled to run from January 22 to January 27, 2025. With just a needle and thread, he aims to push the boundaries of endurance and creativity, reflecting his passion for Nigerian craftsmanship and fashion.

“A Moment I’ve Been Preparing For”

In a recent radio interview, Kuforiji expressed his excitement and determination, saying, “I’ve been planning for this moment forever.” He highlighted that this ambitious attempt goes beyond personal achievement. According to him, the initiative is meant to inspire entrepreneurs everywhere, demonstrating that with consistency, resilience, and endurance, they can achieve extraordinary goals and make a global impact.
