Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli has found herself at the center of controversy following allegations of copyright infringement involving her recently released movie, A Different Type of Love, on YouTube.

The film, which debuted on her YouTube channel, sparked discussions online after fans noticed its striking resemblance to another movie titled Hope Given.

Reacting to the uproar, Omoni took to Instagram to address the issue, revealing that the movie had been removed from YouTube due to feedback highlighting its similarity to the other film.

In her statement, she explained that the script for A Different Type of Love was written by a hired scriptwriter and assured fans that investigations are ongoing to uncover the truth behind the situation.

“I apologize, besties,” she wrote. “As a channel committed to originality, we’ve decided to remove the movie while we investigate. We are working with the scriptwriter and our legal team to resolve this matter. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
