Omowunmi, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, has opened up about the challenges she has faced since his passing.
In an emotional interview with Chude, she admitted that she has struggled to accept her husband’s death, often questioning God’s will and feeling a deep sense of loss.
Adding to her grief, Omowunmi revealed that she has been receiving death threats through social media, leaving her in constant fear. She believes these threats are linked to her father-in-law, whom she accuses of trying to take control of Mohbadâs assets.
She claimed that her father-in-law has been spreading false accusations about her and attempting to ruin her life in pursuit of the late singerâs property. This, she said, is especially painful because he was once overjoyed at their wedding but is now allegedly treating his own grandchild unfairly.
One of the most shocking allegations she made was that her father-in-law falsely claimed Mohbad had wanted to harm their child, even going as far as saying he planned to throw the baby off the Third Mainland Bridge.
Expressing her pain, she said:
“I actually feel like God cheated my husband, like why does he have to die?
We donât feel safe, I usually get death threats in my DMs.
My father-in-law wanted to be in control of my husbandâs property. He wants to destroy my life because of it.
When we got married, he was there and he was the happiest. Now, he is being mean to his grandchild. He even went as far as saying my husband wanted to throw my baby inside the Third Mainland Bridge.”
