Oladotun Olakanle, the Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, November 2, 2024. The cause of his death is currently unknown.

According to Western Post, Olakanle was reportedly active at work on Friday, November 1, 2024, overseeing the distribution of vehicles to police formations in the council area. Additionally, he attended the burial party for Dr. Adesola Taiwo, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and CEO of Adefemi Taiwo Hospitals, on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

A fellow APC chieftain expressed sorrow, stating, “We were at a party together on Thursday. His death is still devastating to me.”

It’s worth noting that Olakanle’s predecessor, Babatunde Oke, also died in office during his second term a few years ago.
