Oprah Winfrey has responded to claims that she was paid $1 million to campaign for Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate in the recent U.S. presidential election, calling the reports false.

The Washington Examiner had alleged that Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, received payment to host a celebrity town hall for Harris in September. However, Oprah firmly denied the claims, stating she did not accept any money for supporting the Democratic nominee.

“Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” Oprah told TMZ.

She declined to comment on the election results, which saw Republican candidate Donald Trump declared President-elect.
