Oriyomi Hamzat Hospitalized After Witnessing Stampede That Killed 35 Children In Ibadan

Oriyomi Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM, is currently receiving medical attention after being overwhelmed by the tragic outcome of Olori Naomi’s charity event in Ibadan, where a stampede claimed the lives of 35 children.

The event, held at Islamic High School, Bashorun, and co-organized by Queen Naomi Silekunola, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, ended in chaos due to overcrowding. Agidigbo FM had heavily promoted the event, which turned tragic when the overcrowded venue caused a fatal stampede.

Hamzat, who was present at the scene, was deeply affected by witnessing the deaths and injuries of children. A source from Agidigbo FM disclosed that the emotional and physical toll of the incident left Hamzat unable to cope.

“He was truly at the event, but when the stampede began, and children started collapsing, he couldn’t bear the sight. He also fell and had to be rushed to the hospital,” the source told Sahara Reporters.

The Oyo State government and police authorities have promised a thorough investigation into the incident as the community continues to grapple with the devastating tragedy.
