The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC, has declared the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the winner of all local government and councillorship positions in the recently concluded election.

OSSIEC Chairman Hashim Abioye made the announcement on Saturday evening via a Facebook Live broadcast, stating that PDP candidates secured victory in all 332 wards and all 30 local government chairmanship seats in the state.

Earlier, DAILY POST reported that the election commenced as scheduled on Saturday morning. However, Abioye later raised concerns that security personnel had sealed off OSSIEC’s headquarters, preventing the delivery of most electoral materials to polling stations.
