Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has recounted a surprising incident where one of his pastors abroad was arrested for addressing a congregation as “ladies and gentlemen,” a commonly used greeting. According to Pastor Adeboye, the arrest came after complaints of discrimination from individuals questioning the exclusion of those who do not identify as either gender.
In his sermon, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the need for Christians to remain steadfast in their faith despite the evolving values of the world. He also shared a personal encounter with a woman who referred to her dog as her husband, illustrating how societal norms are shifting dramatically.
“The end is nearer than you think,” he warned. “Things are getting worse, and this is a wake-up call. Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stand. God is holy.”
He also addressed those who have yet to make a genuine commitment to their faith, saying, “Those still playing church—singing, clapping, and enjoying things without genuine commitment—remember, Jesus is coming back.”
Pastor Adeboye urged his congregation to hold firm to their beliefs and resist being swayed by the changing world.
