Pastor Lazarus Reveals Gospel Singer Charged $10,000 to Perform at His Church

Pastor Lazarus, leader of Light Nation Church, has disclosed the high fee a popular gospel singer demanded to perform at his church.

TheNewsGuru reports that the pastor had previously criticized the commercialization of ministry, recalling a time when a singer charged ₦5 million to perform for his congregation. He argued that genuine ministers should rely on divine provision rather than turning worship into a business. His statement sparked debate within the gospel and gospel music community, drawing reactions from notable figures like Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo and comedian Alibaba.

During a Sunday service, Pastor Lazarus revisited the issue and provided details of the costly booking fee charged by a well-known gospel musician.

Referring to the invoice sent to his church, he stated, “I want the media to project an invoice. I don’t want to call the name of the music minister in Nigeria.

“This is the invoice. Let me read what is there—an honorarium of $10,000, along with additional costs for accommodation, meals, and the number of persons coming. They will still have to return on the same day. All this is non-refundable.”
