Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was in Rome to pay his respects at the lying-in-state ceremony of Pope Francis.
Obi joined global dignitaries, religious leaders, and mourners in a solemn tribute to the pontiff, who passed away after years of impactful leadership of the Roman Catholic Church.
Speaking briefly to the press, Obi described Pope Francis as a moral compass for the world and a tireless advocate for peace, justice, and compassion.
He noted that the Pope’s legacy would continue to inspire generations, and emphasized the importance of global unity in honoring such a remarkable spiritual leader.
