Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has praised lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi for demonstrating courage in challenging times.
Farotimi was recently remanded in custody over defamation allegations by fellow lawyer Afe Babalola.
In a post on his X account, Obi revealed that he visited Farotimi on January 2 after meeting former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
“After meeting with President Obasanjo, I visited my younger brother, Dele Farotimi. Since his return from the correctional center in Ekiti, I hadn’t had the chance to meet him,” Obi stated.
He expressed joy in seeing Farotimi in good spirits and commended his steadfast commitment to the pursuit of good governance.
“@DeleFarotimi embodies courage in adversity, consistently taking bold stands for Nigeria’s betterment. I wish him a fruitful year as we work toward national development,” Obi concluded.
