Junior Pope’s funeral was attended by many celebrities from the entertainment industry, including Zubby Michael, Ruby Ojiakor, Linc Edochie, Queen Wokoma, Chinwe Owoh, Rita Edochie, and others.

The funeral service was held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe, and was followed by a brief sermon and a final farewell to the late actor.

The officiating priest prayed for the family of the deceased, saying “the lord gives and the lord taketh.”

Junior Pope’s family, friends, and colleagues were overwhelmed with emotion as his body, laid in a white casket, was lowered to the ground in his compound after the church service.

Security operatives, including the police and local vigilante groups, were present at the venue to ensure order and prevent unauthorized persons from taking pictures or making video recordings.

Junior Pope, whose real name was JohnPaul Odonwodo, was married to Jennifer Awele in November 2014 and they had three children together.

He tragically drowned alongside four others on April 10.

The late actor’s burial arrangements began on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State.

A final thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, May 19, at St. Peter’s Parish Ukche Nsukkaa, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu.
