Police commence investigation into attack on Ondo Commissioner over palliatives

The Ondo state Commissioner of Police Asabi Abiodun has ordered an immediate investigation into the attack on the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Adebunmi Osadahun at Arigidi, Akoko Northwest local government area.

CP Asabi, in a statement by the Ondo Police spokesman, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, directed the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Akure for further probe into what led to the assault.

The statement stated that a preliminary investigation showed the Commissioner who was in the Akoko area to see to the distribution of State palliatives was attacked by the All Progressives Congress Ward 1 Chairman Awolumate Olumide while having a meeting with some of their party members in the area.

A viral video over the weekend had shown how Dr. Osadahun was attacked by Olumide who used a chair to hit her head. Another video showed the Commissioner with a swollen head.
