Police shoots at peaceful protesters in Maiduguri, Borno state

In Maiduguri, Borno State, police dispersed a protest on Thursday, August 1, 2024 by shooting at them.

The protesters were demonstrating against economic hardship and the recent fuel subsidy removal.

The protest, which started peacefully, turned violent when police arrived at the scene.

A TV reporter, who was live on air reporting on the protest, took to his heels while narrating how the protesters who are a bit aggressive, forced the police to shoot at them.

Protesters who were mobilized, ran for safety and protection.
