Popular Nollywood Actress Nkechi Nweje Passes Away

Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje has reportedly passed away, leaving the entertainment industry in mourning.

According to TheNewsGuru, colleagues and friends of the late actress took to social media to express their grief over her painful demise.

Veteran actress Rita Edochie shared a symbolic candlelight image on Instagram with a dark background, captioning it: “This world is really not our home.”

Many of Nweje’s friends and colleagues also paid tribute online.

Buchi Dortmund wrote: “Today, my heart is heavy with sorrow as I say goodbye to my dear sister. Words cannot capture the depth of this pain, nor can they fully express the love I have for her. Rest in peace, Ezigbo Mrs. Nkechi Nweje.”

Asa Ikuku shared: “Rest in peace, mummy Nkechi Nweje TV (Nwanyi Onitsha). You were indeed a blessing to us, but God knows best. We will miss you so much, great Nollywood actress. Rest on, legend.”

Lilian Mma Faith also mourned her, saying: “Madam Nkechi Nweje, Aka Nwanyi Onitsha, I read from her supposed friend that she had been sick for a while and just died at the verge of recovery. This is not good! No wonder she had become scarce on screen. Kai! Goodnight, Nwanyi Oma Onitsha. Onwu amaghi eme!”

Her passing is a huge loss to Nollywood, where she was known for her motherly roles and powerful performances. May her soul rest in peace.
