Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Police Command. This follows his declaration as wanted by the Ogun State Police Command over an alleged assault on government officials.

Portable turned himself in at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba. Confirming this development, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.”

The Ogun State Police Command had earlier declared Portable wanted following an alleged assault on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The officials claimed they were attacked during an enforcement exercise in Ota. While nine of Portable’s associates were arrested, the singer reportedly fled the scene, leading to his being declared wanted.

Portable’s surrender marks a significant turn in the ongoing investigation, as he is expected to be transferred to Ogun State for further questioning and possible legal proceedings.
