In a symbolic gesture marking the conclusion of Elon Musk’s tenure as a special government employee, President Donald Trump presented the billionaire entrepreneur with a golden key to the White House during a farewell event in the Oval Office.

The event, held on Friday afternoon, celebrated Musk’s leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative aimed at streamlining federal operations and reducing government spending. Trump praised Musk’s contributions, calling his efforts “the most sweeping and consequential government reform effort in generations.”

Musk, dressed in black and wearing a cap emblazoned with “The Dogefather,” accepted the key with gratitude, acknowledging the work of the DOGE team and expressing his commitment to continued collaboration with the administration. “I hope to continue to provide advice whenever the president would like,” Musk stated.

While Musk is formally stepping down from his government role, Trump hinted at future involvement, saying, “Elon is really not leaving. He’s going to be back and forth, I think. I have a feeling. It’s his baby.”
