President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to swear in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria today, Friday.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11 am at the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President returned to Nigeria on Thursday evening, cutting short his private visit to France. According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s early return was to ensure he could perform the swearing-in ceremony.

The Presidency had initially described the President’s trip to France as a “brief work stay” when he departed Abuja on Monday.

However, the President’s return was expedited to facilitate the swearing-in of the new Chief Justice.
