Proceedings are ongoing at the Presidential Petition Election Tribunal, where the court is delivering judgement on the election petitions filed against the election victory of President Bola Tinubu.

In the first case of today, the tribunal dismissed the petition of the Allied Peoples Movement, which challenged the qualification of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The tribunal ruled that the case was a pre-election matter, which ought to have been challenged at a Federal High Court before the conduct of the presidential election.

The election tribunal also ruled that members of a political party cannot challenge the nomination of candidates of another political party.

As at the time of filing this report, the petition case of the Labour Party is being heard for verdict.
