Price of Kerosene in Nigeria Increase by 25% in 1 Year, Gas by 1.7%

As the cost of living continue to rise in the country, the prices of food and cooking fuel has also gone up.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in a latest report has disclosed that the prices of kerosene and cooking gas increased by 25.18% and 1.7% respectively in the last 1 year.

The average retail price per liter of household kerosene increased from N1,041.05 in October 2022 to N1,303.16 in October 2023.

Meanwhile, for liquefied petroleum gas also known as cooking gas, the average retail price for refilling a 5kg cylinder increased from N4,483.75 in October 2022 to N4,562.51 in October 2023, indicating a 1.7% increase year-on-year.
