The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, was visibly moved to tears in a on Wednesday as he publicly apologized for the errors discovered in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

In an emotional address, Prof. Oloyede reaffirmed the Board’s unwavering commitment to its core values of transparency, fairness, and equity. He explained that the discrepancies were the result of a technical error caused by one of JAMB’s two service providers, who improperly uploaded candidates’ data. He emphasized that it was neither a system failure nor an act of sabotage, but a technical issue that has since been identified and resolved.
