Professor Aisha Maikudi Appointed 7th Vice-Chancellor Of University Of Abuja

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja, chaired by Air Vice-Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (Rtd), has appointed Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi as the 7th substantive vice-chancellor of the institution.

The announcement was made during the council’s 77th Extraordinary Meeting on Tuesday.

According to a statement by Dr. Habib Yakoob, Acting Director of Information and University Relations, the appointment, effective January 1, 2025, is for a single, non-renewable five-year tenure.

Dr. Yakoob noted that Maikudi emerged as the top candidate among 10 shortlisted for the role after an interview conducted by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board, following established procedures.
