On August 4, 2024, thousands of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) members participated in their annual prayer walk, seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s challenges.

The event drew a large crowd, with participants marching through the streets, praying for peace, stability, and improved governance.

Social media reactions were divided. Supporters saw the prayer walk as a vital spiritual exercise, hoping their collective prayers would lead to positive change.

They believed prayer could complement efforts to address the country’s issues, highlighting the power of faith.

Critics, however, questioned the effectiveness of prayer over direct action. Some argued that the energy spent on prayer walks would be better utilized in protests demanding governmental action.

They expressed frustration with perceived inaction, feeling that prayer alone would not solve Nigeria’s systemic problems.
