Real Madrid C.F. is proud to announce the appointment of Xabi Alonso as the club’s new head coach, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the club’s illustrious history.

Alonso, a former Real Madrid midfielder and World Cup winner, returns to the Santiago Bernabéu after an impressive managerial spell at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he led the German side to unprecedented success in both domestic and European competitions. His tactical intelligence, leadership qualities, and deep understanding of the club’s values make him the ideal figure to guide Los Blancos into a new era.

Club President Florentino Pérez stated: “Xabi Alonso embodies the spirit and excellence of Real Madrid. As a player, he was a model professional and a key part of our success. As a coach, he has proven himself to be among the most promising in world football. We are delighted to welcome him back home.”

Alonso expressed his gratitude and excitement: “It’s an honor to return to Real Madrid as head coach. This club holds a special place in my heart, and I am committed to building on its legacy with hard work, humility, and ambition. I look forward to working with this talented squad and our incredible fans.”

Xabi Alonso will begin his duties immediately, with pre-season preparations scheduled to begin in July. The club will host a press conference later this week to formally introduce him to the media.
