Rema Makes History as First African Artist to Go Platinum in Norway

Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history in Norway by becoming the first African artist to achieve platinum status in the country.

His hit song Calm Down, featuring Selena Gomez, earned the milestone and recently surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.

Announcing the achievement on Monday, December 16, Album Talks shared on X:

“Rema’s Calm Down featuring Selena Gomez has now been certified Platinum in Norway. Rema becomes the first African artist to receive a certification in the country.”
