Rema’s “Calm Down” Hits 1 Billion YouTube Streams, Makes History with Grammy Nomination

Afrobeats star Rema has reached a monumental milestone in Nigerian music, with his global hit “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez, surpassing 1 billion streams on YouTube.

2024 has been a remarkable year for Rema, as he continues to rack up accolades with hit songs like “Ozeba,” “Aza Man,” and “Benin Boys” featuring Shalipopi, which have dominated global music platforms.

Rema’s “Calm Down” has also made history, marking him as the first Afrobeats artist to perform at the prestigious 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony. Released in 2023, the song has topped Billboard charts and achieved incredible milestones.

In addition to his success, Rema has earned a coveted nomination for the 2025 Grammy Awards, set to take place in Los Angeles, USA.
