In a move aimed at boosting efficiency, Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has announced the end of the traditional reception protocol upon his return from trips.
This marks a significant break from the past, where high-ranking authorities would be required to mobilize and welcome him back.
According to the Presidency, the decision is driven by the president’s desire to minimize disruptions to the work of senior civilian and military officials, who would often spend half a day welcoming him back.
From now on, protocol and honors will only be reserved for his departures, sources reveal.
This change is part of the new administration’s efforts to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
