Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, demonstrated his commitment to supporting those in need by leading a humanitarian mission to Borno State.
The state was recently devastated by severe flooding in Maiduguri, its capital.
Accompanied by his brother, friends, and associates, Seyi donated over ₦500 million worth of essential items to alleviate the suffering of those affected.
This generous gesture aims to provide immediate relief and support the long-term recovery of the affected communities.
During his visit, Seyi acknowledged the resilience of the people of Borno State, who have faced numerous challenges in the past. He expressed optimism that the state will overcome this tragedy and emerge stronger.
The donated items included:
– Food supplies such as cartons of spaghetti, tomato paste, groundnut oil, salt, bags of flour, rice, maize, Maggie, and thousands of loaves of bread
– Medical supplies, including antimalarials, anti-hypertensives, antiparasitics, anti-diabetics, analgesics, and antibiotics for almost 50,000 children and adults
– Survival kits comprising 10,000 pieces of mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, kettles, wrappers, buckets, mats, sanitary pads, and wash kits
Seyi praised Governor Babagana Zulum’s leadership during this crisis and emphasized the importance of collective action in times of hardship. He reiterated his commitment to supporting young people and vulnerable communities.
This humanitarian effort follows President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Borno State, where he called for private sector support and individual contributions to aid the affected communities. Seyi’s initiative demonstrates the Tinubu family’s dedication to the welfare of Nigerians.
Transport and logistics expert Chidi and renowned aviator Isaac Balami, who accompanied Seyi on the visit, praised his compassion and dedication to supporting young people and vulnerable communities.
Seyi’s words of encouragement and solidarity resonated with the people of Borno State: “Together, we can rebuild and heal, for in unity, there is strength. The Nigerian youth stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Borno. We are in this together, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”
