Social Media Miracle: Nigerians Raise N15 Million for Quadruplets’ Family

Nigerians have rallied together to donate over N15 million to Sodiq Olayode and his family after his wife, Abiodun, gave birth to quadruplets.

The news was shared by Olayode’s colleague, identified as James, who tweets under the handle #jamysax on X.com.

On Tuesday, James posted, “A colleague of mine who already had two kids decided to try for one more. Guess how many his wife gave birth to? Four at once (quadruplets). The man is in shock, constantly lamenting on his status every day.”

James also shared a screenshot of one of Olayode’s WhatsApp posts, highlighting the rapid consumption of diapers: “105 pieces of diapers in 6 days. Haaa, mo gbe mo daran. E shanu mi eyin quadruplet yi.” (Translation: “I’m in trouble. Please have mercy on me, these quadruplets.”)

The post quickly gained attention, with many netizens empathizing with the challenges of raising multiple young children. By Wednesday, James updated that he had received permission from the couple to share their photo and Olayode’s bank account details for those wanting to help.

As of 11:54 p.m. on July 24, James reported that Olayode had received N15,000,000 in donations. Additionally, several individuals have offered to provide baby items and diapers.
