South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has declared a state of emergency as more than 175 wildfires have burned over 4,200 acres across the state.

The largest blaze, in the Carolina Forest area near Myrtle Beach, has scorched approximately 1,600 acres, prompting mandatory evacuations.

Dry and windy conditions have worsened the situation, leading officials to impose a statewide burning ban to prevent further outbreaks.

Firefighters are actively working to contain the fires, and so far, no injuries or structural damages have been reported.

The emergency declaration aims to mobilize resources and coordinate response efforts to protect residents and property.
