Sowore Escorts Corps Member Raye to LGI’s Office Amid Disciplinary Action Over Anti-Tinubu Video

Presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore has thrown his support behind Lagos corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, as she faces disciplinary action over her viral video criticizing the Tinubu administration.

Raye, serving in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos, sparked controversy after calling out the Tinubu government over rising inflation and describing Lagos as a “smelly state.” Her refusal to delete the video led to a summons from her Local Government Inspector (LGI), reportedly for disciplinary measures.

In solidarity, Sowore and his legal team accompanied Raye to the LGI’s office. He shared a video on X, updating followers on the situation.

“The journey with youth corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has commenced in Lagos. She is scheduled to appear before the LGI today, and we will escort her to their offices. We are all en route with attorneys. @mrfestusogun @yinka_oyesomi and @justiceojienoh,” he wrote.

The case has sparked mixed reactions, with some praising Raye’s boldness while others question the appropriateness of her remarks as a serving corps member. More updates on the meeting’s outcome are expected.
