To mark the 10-year milestone of Wizkid’s iconic hit ‘Ojuelegba,’ Spotify has released a special anniversary short film that reflects on the song’s enduring legacy and its role in propelling Afrobeats to global recognition.

Since its release in 2014, ‘Ojuelegba’ has resonated with millions worldwide, accumulating over 55 million streams on Spotify as of April 2024. This landmark track helped solidify Wizkid as one of Africa’s most influential artists and has been instrumental in the global rise of Afrobeats.

The film highlights the journey of ‘Ojuelegba,’ from reaching 1 million streams in 2015 to surpassing 10 million by 2018, showcasing its widespread popularity across markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, Nigeria, and the Netherlands.

This celebration underscores both the lasting impact of ‘Ojuelegba’ and the continued growth of Afrobeats on the international stage, cementing Wizkid’s place as a trailblazer in African music.
