The Ogun State Government says it has commenced the payment of 40% Peculiar Allowance to Civil Servants, as the state government joins other states and the federal government in providing subsidy removal palliatives.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi said the Peculiar Allowance was paid in fulfillment of the promises by Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration to cushion the effect of the economic hardship.

Talabi listed other palliative measures to include the payment of a separate 10,000 naira allowance to civil servants for three months, the provision of Compressed Natural Gas buses, among others.
