Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, has departed Libya following unsatisfactory treatment by local authorities.

The team’s chartered Valuejet plane, which was initially diverted, has taken off.

After arriving, players and officials spent over 15 hours at the airport before clearance.

The scheduled AFCON qualifier against Libya’s Mediterranean Knights was cancelled due to Nigeria’s withdrawal.

Nigeria Football Federation prioritizes player welfare, condemning Libya’s unprofessional hospitality.
