The Super Eagles of Nigeria have emerged champions of the 2025 Unity Cup, edging out Jamaica 5-4 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Played on Saturday at the Brentford Community Stadium in London, the match saw goals from Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze in each half for Nigeria, while Jamaica responded with two goals of their own to force the game into a penalty shootout.

The Unity Cup, held from May 27 to 31, made a historic return this year after a 21-year hiatus. Featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago, the tournament was a vibrant celebration of African and Caribbean heritage, aiming to foster unity among diaspora communities in London.

This year’s edition not only revived the legacy of the competition last played in 2004 but also highlighted football’s power in promoting cultural pride and community cohesion.
