Super Falcons, Waldrum, Oshoala, Nnadozie, 8 other Nigerians Nominated for CAF Women Awards

The Super Falcons of Nigeria, its head coach Randy Waldrum, and 10 Nigerian stars have been nominated in various categories at the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards.

The Nigerian nominees include: the Super Falcons for National Team of the Year; Randy Waldrum for Coach of the Year and Chiamaka Nnadozie for Goalkeeper of the Year.

Others are Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ucheibe, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne and Uchenna Kanu for Player of the Year; and Deborah Abiodun, Esther Opeyemi Ajakaye and Oluwatosin Demehin for Young Player of the Year.

The nominees were selected by a panel made up of CAF Technical Experts, Legends, and selected media representatives. The nominees were selected based on their performances at all levels from December 2022 to November 2023.

The CAF Women Awards has 7 categories, namely: Player of Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year.
