Tems’ 2020 debut EP, “For Broken Ears,” has achieved an RIAA gold certification, surpassing 500,000 sales in the United States.

This milestone marks Tems as the first Nigerian female artist to receive an RIAA-certified project.

Released in 2020, “For Broken Ears” is a 7-track extended playlist featuring hit singles “Free Mind” and “Higher,” both of which gained significant success in the U.S. Tems gained international mainstream attention with “Essence,” her hit collaboration with Nigerian megastar Wizkid, propelling her to global stardom.

With the gold certification of “For Broken Ears,” Tems joins the ranks of Rema and Wizkid as the only Nigerian artists with RIAA-certified projects.

Wizkid’s fourth album, “Made In Lagos,” and Rema’s debut album, “Raves & Roses,” have both achieved RIAA gold status.

Looking ahead, Tems aims to continue her international success with her upcoming debut LP, “Born In The Wild,” set for release on June 7, 2024.

In anticipation of the album, she has released singles “Me & U,” “Not An Angel,” and “Love Me Jeje,” the latter of which samples the classic Nigerian song of the same title by Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello.
