San Diego FC (SDFC) has announced that 2x GRAMMY Award-winning and Oscar-nominated Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Tems has joined the club’s ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe.

Tems, known for her distinct sound and global influence, will bring her creative energy and passion for community engagement to the club as a Club Partner.

“We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC,” said SDFC Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour. “She is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which has its foundations in sub-Saharan Africa through the Right to Dream organization.”

SDFC CEO Tom Penn added, “Her passion for empowering the next generation aligns perfectly with our mission, and we look forward to creating meaningful connections between the music world and San Diego FC.”

Tems, a Lagos native, has earned accolades including a GRAMMY for Love Me JeJe from her debut album Born In The Wild, a GRAMMY for her work on Future’s Wait for U, and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Lift Me Up, the lead single from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community,” Tems said. “Football brings people together, and I am excited to help build something special in San Diego.”

She joins an esteemed group of Club Partners, including actress Issa Rae, World Cup champion Juan Mata, retired U.S. Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, and San Diego Padres star Manny Machado.

Tems’ partnership with SDFC is in collaboration with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm that previously led an investment in NBA Africa. As part of the agreement, Pave Investments Chairman Tunde Folawiyo and Founding Director Kwamena Afful will also join the SDFC ownership group. Together, they aim to strengthen the club’s commitment to empowering communities through sport and culture.
