Lionel Messi led Argentina to a resounding 6-0 victory over Bolivia in their World Cup qualifying match at El Monumental, scoring a hat-trick and providing two assists.

The 37-year-old legend opened the scoring and set up goals for Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez. He sealed his 10th international hat-trick with two late goals, bringing his total to 112 goals for Argentina.

Messi was emotional about the fans’ adoration, saying, “Hearing them chant my name is emotional. We love playing at home and enjoying this connection with the fans.”

Regarding his future, Messi remained uncertain, stating, “I haven’t set a deadline. I’m just enjoying this moment. These could be my last games, so I’m taking in all the love.”

Argentina’s win maintained their top spot in the Conmebol qualifying section, positioning them well for the 2026 World Cup.

Coach Lionel Scaloni praised Messi, saying, “It’s a joy to watch him. He never ceases to amaze us. I just ask him to keep playing as long as he can.”
