Nigerian TikTok content creator Bobby has alleged that his account was banned after followers of fellow influencer Peller targeted him. This reportedly happened after Peller’s follower count dropped from 9.7 million to 9.6 million, allegedly due to Bobby’s call for influencers and skit makers to be more vocal about national issues.

In a video, Bobby expressed frustration over the ban, stating that his intention was to encourage collective action for positive change. He clarified that he never asked anyone to unfollow Peller but found himself facing backlash.

“My TikTok account was taken down 20 minutes ago because of Peller’s followers. They were reporting my account just because I made a video that would benefit all of us when the government starts acting right. Out of all the videos I’ve been making, the one where I say people should unfollow influencers who are silent about the economy is the one they reacted to. Now people decided to unfollow Peller. Is that my business? Did I tell anyone to unfollow him?” he said.

Bobby also revealed that he received threats, including one from someone who allegedly said they would consult a traditional spiritualist (Babalawo) to curse him and his family.

Despite the ban, he remains determined, stating that he will continue creating new accounts if necessary.

“If you ban this one, I’ll open another one. If you ban that one too, I’ll open another. This is my face; it will always come back. Trying to silence me will only make me speak louder. I am fighting for you and me. If the government starts acting right, we will all benefit from it,” he asserted.

Bobby urged his supporters to follow his newly created backup account in case his main account remains inaccessible.

The incident highlights the growing tension among online communities and the challenges content creators face when addressing social and political issues.
