Following the aftermath of the 66th Grammy Awards where Nigerian artists failed to secure any wins, opinions and reactions have been pouring in.
While some have argued that the Recording Academy used Afrobeats for clout, Nigerian Dancehall legend Timaya has a different perspective.
In an interview with Beat FM, Timaya expressed his view that Nigerians don’t need to return home because there’s a lack of credible awards locally, with existing ones like the Headies being deemed unreliable.
He emphasized that the loss at the Grammy Awards should not discourage Nigerian superstars but rather serve as inspiration to strive harder.

Recently, the Recording Academy has faced criticism from Nigerians, after Burna Boy, Davido, Asake & Olamide, and Ayra Starr failed to secure any awards, despite having a total combined 10 nominations.
