President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), replacing Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed.

Nafiu, an artillery officer from Ileogbo in Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, is a graduate of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College.

He previously served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and also held the same position under the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

The appointment is expected to take immediate effect, though an official statement from the presidency is yet to be released.
